It was time for post-season honors for the Parker Broncs girls’ volleyball team, as the coaches and athletic directors of the 2A West selected the all-section first and second teams and honorable mentions.
Parker’s Libero and defensive specialist, Elisa Martinez, was named the 2A West Defensive Player of the Year. She was also named to the 2A West first team, along with hitter Demi Durham and setter Savana Flores.
Broncs’ hitters Tatiana Cuadras and Taylor Ruiz were named to the 2A West second team, while Kaila Maxwell received honorable mention as a setter.
Trivium Prep’s Paula Rosztoczky was named 2A West Player of the Year. Tonopah Valley’s Quinci Dailey was named Offensive Player of the Year. Trivium Prep’s Beth Wilson was named Coach of the Year.
The 2018 season saw the Broncs go 7-1 against the section opponents, 7-3 against other 2A teams, and 11-6 overall. They placed second to Trivium Prep in the 2A West because Trivium had a better overall record. The Broncs defeated Desert Christian in a “play-in” game to qualify for the state 2A tournament. They fell to Veritas Prep in the first round of the state tournament.
