Parker Open

Zahkai Brown (left) was the winner of the 23rd Parker Open with a 13 under par score of 203 for the three-day tournament. The event was held April 26 to 28. Brown is receiving his trophy from the Director of the Emerald Canyon Golf Course, Steve Benton.

Zahkai Brown of Golden, Colo. was the winner of the 23rd BlueWater Resort & Casino Parker Open, which was held April 26-28 the Emerald Canyon Golf Course north of Parker. Brown topped the 154 golfers who competed for a share of a total purse of $40,140.

Brown won in a 4- hole playoff with Jimmy Gunn from Mesa, Ariz. Brown posted scores of 66-72-65 to finish 13 under par with a total score of 203 for the three days, winning $8,000.  Brown birdied five of his last six holes to get into the playoff.  This is the second time he has won the Parker Open.

Senior Champion was Barry Conser with a total of 5 under Par.

The tournament helped raise money for the Junior Golf Program at Emerald Canyon Golf Course.
