With the end of the winter break and the start of 2022, the regular seasons for the Parker High sports teams have restarted. The following is a brief summary of where each team stands and their schedules for this week.


Broncs’ Boys Basketball

The Parker Broncs’ boys’ basketball team went into the winter break with a 0-0 record against their 3A West rivals, a 0-2 record against other 3A teams, and a 3-3 overall record. They are in fourth place in the 3A West.

The Broncs’ boys have two home games this week. The first will be on Tuesday, Jan. 4 against the River Valley Dust Devils of Mohave Valley. These two teams met Nov. 29 in Mohave Valley. The Broncs lost a nail-biter, 72-71.

The second will be on Friday, Jan. 7 against the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks. This will be their first regular season game against a 3A West rival.

Both games are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. However, the starting times are contingent on the completion of the girls’ basketball games that are scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.

Broncs’ girls’ basketball

The Broncs girls went into the winter break with a regular season record of 0-0 against their 3A West rivals, 1-1 record against other 3A teams, and an overall record of 5-1. They’re in second place in the 3A West. Coach Kyle Peta said they were in a great position as they headed into the new year.

The Broncs’ girls have two home games this week. On Jan. 4, they’ll face the River Valley Dust Devils of Mohave Valley. The Broncs faced River Valley Nov. 29 in Mohave Valley in their season opener. They came away with a 60-10 win.

On Friday, Jan. 7, the Broncs will face a 3A West rival for the first time this season when they host the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks.

Both home games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The Broncs will have another home game Monday, Jan. 10, when they play the Scottsdale Christian Eagles. Game time is 7 p.m.

Broncs’ soccer


The Parker Broncs soccer team went into the winter break winless on their 2021-22 regular season, although they had won games in tournaments.

The Broncs are 0-1 against their 3A Northwest rivals, 0-2 against other 3A teams, and 0-3 overall. They are in sixth place in the 3A Northwest.

They have to games on the road this week. They’ll play the Tonopah Valley Phoenix on Wednesday, Jan. 5 and then face the Kingman Bulldogs Jan. 7.

The following week will be a busy one for the Broncs as they will have three games on successive nights, including two home games. They’ll play the Anthem Prep Eagles Tuesday, Jan. 11 at home. Game time is 6 p.m. They will then play the Kingman Bulldogs at 4 p.m., Wedenesday, Jan. 12 at home. They’ll take to the road on Thursday, Jan. 13, to play the Wickenburg Wranglers.

Broncs wrestling


The Parker Broncs wrestling team has already completed their home schedule for the 2021-22 season. Here are the remaining meets and tournaments for the remainder of the season:

Jan. 14 at Dan Sayler Tournament at Mohave High School, Bullhead City.

Jan. 19 at River Valley High School, Mohave Valley; Bagdad, Wickenburg and River Valley; 4 p.m.

Jan. 21 at the Desert Challenge Tournament at San Tan Foothills High School.

Jan. 26 at Seton Catholic High School, Phoenix; Valley Christian and Seton Catholic; 4 p.m.

Feb. 3 at Phoenix Christian High School; Arizona Lutheran, Bagdad, Bourgade Catholic, and other schools, 4 p.m.

Feb. 4 at Mohave High School, Bullhead City; Kingman, Lake Havasu, Laughlin, Nev. and other schools, 4 p.m.
