It was another tough week for the Parker Broncs softball team. They played one of their 3A West rivals, the Wickenburg Wranglers, twice and came away with losses both times.

On Tuesday, April 20, the Broncs lost to the Wranglers at home, 17-9. On Friday, April 30, they again lost to the Wranglers. This time, it was 9-8 in Wickenburg. The Broncs took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but the Wranglers soon jumped out in front, 6-1. The Broncs battled back and tied it 8-8 with three runs in the top of the seventh. They couldn’t send the game into extra innings as Wickenburg tallied in the bottom of the seventh for the win.

The losses leave the Broncs with a 2-4 record against their 3A West rivals, which puts them in fourth place in the region. They are 2-6 against 3A teams and 4-10 overall.

This is the last week of the 2021 softball season for the Broncs. They played the Antelope Rams of Wellton, Ariz. Monday, April 26 at home. They’ll play their final home game of the season Tuesday, April 27 against the 3A West-leading Kingman Bulldogs. Game time is 3:45 p.m.

The Broncs will close out the season Friday, April 30 in Kingman.

Kingman:  5-1, 6-1, 10-1; in first place due to better 3A and overall records

Wickenburg:  5-1, 6-6. 7-9

Yuma Catholic:  3-3, 3-7, 3-10

PARKER:  2-4, 2-6, 2-10

Tonopah Valley:  1-7, 1-10, 2-13
