The Parker Broncs are the boys’ basketball champions of the 2A West for 2018-19. The Broncs won their final regular season game of the season Feb. 7, defeating the Heritage Academy of Laveen Heroes, 65-46, to finish with a record of 7-1 against their region rivals.
The Trivium Prep Crimson Knights defeated the Arizona Lutheran Coyotes, 52-34, Feb. 7 to finish with a record of 6-2 in their region, which puts them in second place. Arizona Lutheran comes in third at 5-3. The Coyotes lost to the Broncs twice and the Crimson Knights once.
The Broncs finish the regular season with a record of 11-1 against other 2A teams. Their only loss was to Trivium Prep, 75-57, Feb. 5. Overall, the Broncs were 15-3. The Arizona Interscholastic Association has them ranked 7th of 2A teams in the state.
With their region championship and their high ranking, the Broncs are virtually guaranteed a spot in the state playoffs, which are scheduled to start Feb. 15 at various sites around the Prescott area. The brackets for the tournament will be announced the afternoon of Feb. 9.
