The Parker Broncs’ softball team started region play this past week with two games against the Tonopah Valley Phoenix. Both games were close and saw a lot of runs scored. On Tuesday, April 6, the Broncs lost, 16-15, in Tonopah. They came back to win, 28-25, Friday, April 9 in Parker.

This was the Broncs’ second win this season and their first against a region rival.

The Broncs are now 1-1 against their 3A West rivals, 1-3 against all 3A teams, and 2-7 overall. They’re in third place in the 3A West.

On April 13, the Broncs will travel to Yuma Catholic to play the Shamrocks. The Shamrocks are, as of this writing April 11, still winless on the 2021 season. They’ll face the team from La Paz County’s other high school, the Salome Frogs, Wednesday, Feb. 14 at home. They’ll close out the week Friday, April 16, against Yuma Catholic again, this time at home. Game time for both games is 3:45 p.m.

Here are the standings in the 3A West as of April 12. Teams are listed by their records in the region, their records against 3A teams, and their overall records:

Kingman Bulldogs:  2-0, 4-1, 7-1

Tonopah Valley Phoenix:  1-1, 1-6, 2-8; ranked 33rd in 3A

PARKER BRONCS:  1-1, 1-3, 2-7; ranked 36th in 3A

Wickenburg Wranglers:  0-0, 4-5, 4-7

Yuma Catholic Shamrocks:  0-2, 0-5, 0-7
