PWC races

Fast personal watercraft, like these seen here in 2018 at an event at the BlueWater Resort & Casino, will be on the Colorado River May 1 and 2 at La Paz County Park for the Hydro-Turf Best of the West series.

Personal Watercraft racing returns to the Parker area May 1 and 2 with theHydro-Turf "Best of the West" Series Presented by Hot Products at La Paz County Park. Some of the fastest PWCs in the world will be racing around a course on the Colorado River north of Parker.

The official title is the Nedra Atwood Memorial Race. This is an International Jet Ski Boat Association (IJSBA) World Finals qualifier.

Two new classes have been added to this event:  Women’s Ski GP and the Grand Masters Class for those 55 years old and older.

The parking fee for La Paz County Park is $10 per vehicle at the gate. There are camping sites available will full hook-ups for $30 per night. The number of sites is limited, and they will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Call Leticia at the park at 928-667-2069.

La Paz County Park is located north of Parker on Riverside Drive. The main entrance is north of Pirate’s Den Resort, which is actually within the park. To reach the park, take State Route 95 to Golf Course Drive. Turn on to Golf Course Drive and make a right turn when you reach Riverside Drive. The park’s main entrance is across the road from Emerald Canyon Golf Course.
