The Parker Broncs’ varsity football team got a night off Friday, Oct. 9 after their scheduled game with the Antelope Rams of Wellton was cancelled. During the home volleyball match Tuesday, Oct. 6, Parker High Athletic Director Dan Maya said there was a possibility of a game in the Phoenix area over the weekend, but that didn’t pan out.
The Broncs will return to action this Friday, Oct. 16, when they travel to Avondale to play the St. John Paul II Lions. This is a new Catholic high school, and this is their first year at the varsity level. The Lions are 0-2, and have not scored a single point this season. They lost to Bourgade Catholic, 38-0, on Oct. 2 ad then lost to Veritas Prep, 69-0. On Oct. 10.
This will be the Lions’ first home game of the season and the Broncs’ first road game.
