Six players on the Parker Broncs’ girls’ basketball team have received regional post-season recognition from the coaches of the 2A West. Two made the first team, two made the second team, and two received honorable mention.

One of the players, Tallia Robledo, was named to the first all-region team even though she is a freshman.

The Parker girls finished the regular season with a 6-2 record against their 2A West opponents, which was good enough for second place. The Broncs were 7-5 against other 2A opponents and 9-9 overall. They often did not have a full team for games because they were dealing with injuries all season.

They qualified for a state 2A tournament play-in game, but lost that game Feb. 13 to Phoenix Country Day School, 69-26.

Here are the Broncs who received recognition:

First team:  Alicia Briones and Tallia Robledo.

Second team:  Zahrah Schultz and Bobbie Esquerra.

Honorable Mention:  Aleesha Begaye and Casandra Sandoval.
