Best in the Desert Racing Association’s BlueWater Resort Parker “425” Presented by Jimco Racing “Pre-Fun Run” will start the year off strong on Jan. 8-10, 2021 in Parker, Ariz. The course will be open to registered Parker 425 race teams on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, and Parker 250 race teams and to the general public on Sunday, Jan. 10, to give newcomers the chance to see and experience the legendary BITD racecourse. The “Pre-Fun Run” will precede the official BlueWater Resort Parker “425” Presented by Jimco Racing on January 13-16, 2021.
The Parker 425 has a long, rich history in picturesque Parker, Ariz. with the course running alongside the mighty Colorado River. Fans and racers can expect the same grueling course with famous challenges like the Parker Python, Osbourne Wash, the Rock Pile, and the Crossover. With an interesting new twist to the series schedule, this year’s Parker 425 will be the first race of the BITD 2021 series as well as the first round of the highly-coveted 2021 Maxxis Triple Crown series. As such, important points are on the line. Racing on the punishing, yet scenic, 425-mile course is expected to be fierce as competitors are hungry to start the year on top.
All the top racers from the off-road racing world are likely to compete over two full days of racing Friday and Saturday, Jan. 15 and 16, 2021, with the highly-anticipated Trick Truck, Class 6100, and Class 1500, race teams battling it out on Saturday, Jan. 16.
The race is open to off-road cars and trucks with registration open now and running through Jan. 10, 2021. The drawing for starting positions is set for Dec. 28, 2020
While 2020 was a tumultuous year for many racing organizations with event cancellations and race postponements, BITD still managed to set records and organize safe, successful events, showing the Association’s resilience and adaptability. If 2020 was any example, BITD’s 2021 series is gearing up to be bigger and better than ever.
BITD Race Operations Mgr. Jeff Phillips commented, “The BlueWater Resort Parker ‘425’ Presented by Jimco Racing and Tensor Tire Parker ‘250’ are a great way to start 2021 fresh during these crazy times. Remember the words that BITD founder Casey Folks lived by: “Life is too short, get out and race. Never say, I will next time and take advantage of every opportunity you can!”
“I am really excited about the start of the 2021 season,” said BITD CMO Bryan Folks. “We have done a revamp on our opening rounds in Parker with additions to the Pre-Fun Run, which now will allow the Parker 250 participants a chance to see the racecourse, as well as offering the public a chance to see what the racers go through on their grueling day of racing. Additionally, we swapped dates to allow us to get further away from other racing venues. Next year should be one for the ages and we are excited to be able to bring everyone out of the shadows and into the light. I look forward to seeing everyone at the start of the season.”
