Peaches to the people of Bouse for their remembering World War II. Camp Bouse was an important training center for American armored crews. They went from there to defeat the Axis powers of Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and Imperial Japan. Camp Bouse and what happened there needs to be remembered so Americans will appreciate their heritage.
Peaches to the Daughters of the American Revolution for their efforts at historic preservation and recognition. We need to remember our history. If we know where we’ve been, we’ll have a better idea of where we’re going in the future.
Peaches to the Parker Police Explorers. Not only are they interested in and learning about law enforcement, they also perform many civic duties. They are truly a group of community-minded young people.
Peaches to the Parker 4-Wheelers and other off-road organizations. The 4-Wheelers do a lot for the community in terms of donations and civic service, and they care about the desert environment. Off-road clubs in general have proven to be some of the most civic minded people around.
Pits to Super Bowl halftime entertainment. They always put on a spectacular production number, but it usually leaves you wondering why you tuned in at all. J-Lo pole dancing. Seriously? I’ll admit her daughter did a great job, and she’s obviously a born performer. I can’t help but wonder what happened to having marching bands during halftime.
Pits to whoever shot that burro in Big River.
Pits to the Democratic Party and their software glitches in the Iowa Caucuses. That was not a good way to start the “official” part of the 2020 Presidential Campaign.
Pits to the bad rural roads in Arizona. Bad roads are unsafe and a hindrance to economic development. It’s clear revenue from the state’s fuel tax is inadequate to meet the state’s current transportation needs, let alone future needs. If you have any ideas, you might want to contact your state representatives. They’re listed on page 4.
Pits to no longer having a KFC in Parker. I miss popcorn chicken!
We shouldn’t be the only ones doing this. This section is for you, too! We want to know: who do you think deserves a peach? How about a pit? Send your ideas to the Parker Pioneer, P.O.
