Peaches & Pits

Peaches to Best in the Desert Racing Association for pulling off a great event with the Tensor Tire Parker 250. Even with all the restrictions due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, they managed to put on a great show.

Pits to Shea Road. Actually, that would be better than the potholes they have now. I’m starting to wonder how many more pothole jokes I can make.

Peaches to the Town of Parker and the Parker Regional Chamber of Commerce & Tourism. They successfully pulled off two –count ‘em, two!- Downtown Experience street fairs in two months.

Peaches to Buni Hooper and Mish Mash Studio for the La Paz County Youth Pageants at the County Fair. With no Miss La Paz Pageant this year, we need something for young girls and boys on the Rotary Stage.

Peaches to the Parker Broncs soccer team for getting their first win of the season. These boys have come a long way since the start of the season. They’ll be a force to be reckoned with next year.

Peaches to the firefighters who responded to that brush fire Wednesday, Feb. 17. With the high winds we had that day, they had their hands full. Thank you all!

Peaches to frybread! Actually, I like mine with beans, cheese and ground beef. Nature’s most perfect food!

Peaches to my friend, Randy Hartless, and his comment about the state legislature. He said that, if idiots were airplanes, the state capitol would be busier than Sky Harbor Airport. How true! If you applied that to Washington, the Capitol in D.C. would be busier than Reagan National Airport and Dulles International Airport combined!

Who do you think deserves a peach? How about a pit? Send your ideas, in 40 words or less, to the Parker Pioneer at ppioneer@havasunews.com or by mail to P.O. Box 3365, Parker, Ariz. 85344.
