St. Vincent de Paul

Dear Editor,

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Parker wishes to express its gratitude to the many businesses and people who generously support our programs that seek to feed, clothe, house, and heal those in need in our community. This year we were able to distribute 173 turkeys and feed 80 people on Thanksgiving Day.

We would like to recognize Safeway who coordinated donation of 85 complete turkey dinners, Ed and Marilyn Benson who donated 50 turkeys, Colleen and Mike who donated to-go boxes and all the side dishes for the Thanksgiving meal, Bimbo Bakeries who donate breads to us weekly throughout the year; Food City and Walmart, who provide us with dairy products, produce and grocery bags all year, Rose Acre Farms who donate eggs all year, and St. Mary’s and St. Vincent de Paul Food Banks who deliver food all year. Thanks to Lucas and Shauna, assisted by Carey and Delisha, who organized a modified Poker Run fund raiser, and to those anonymous donors who contribute to us.

Approximately 200 families depend on the assistance of our conference monthly. The funds donated allow us to assist with rent, utility payments, or perhaps a tank of gas. In fact, no form of charity is foreign to our Society.

Thank you to all our volunteer Vincentians whose hands reach out to those in need.

Terry Dock, president

Society of St. Vincent de Paul
