Peaches to VFW Post 7061 and to everyone in the Parker community and elsewhere who helped out. You did it! The new building is beautiful! I’m sure Eddie May and all the late veterans of the Parker community are smiling now.
Peaches to everyone involved in the life jacket exchange held Aug. 21 at the Boating Safety Building. Thanks for helping to keep everyone safe on the river!
Peaches to the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office for two big drug busts in the last two weeks. We know we live in a major drug trafficking corridor. Let’s hope we can get the dealers to decide our county is somewhere they want to avoid.
Peaches to the Parker Broncs football, volleyball and cross country teams. Here’s hoping you all have magnificent seasons.
Peaches to the Salome Frogs, too!
Peaches to the Arizona Diamondbacks. They’ve played so well since the All-Star break, they no longer have the worst record in baseball (Take it easy! Don’t hyperventilate! Relax! Take deep breaths.) Maybe they’re doing it to spite the management for trading Eduardo Escobar. Whatever it is, there may still be hope for this franchise.
Pits to all the politicians and military and foreign policy “experts” for their actions on Afghanistan for the last 20 years. All they really did was prove once again no foreign power will ever control that country.
Pits to all the misinformation and disinformation out there about the coronavirus. Seriously, we’re under-cutting our own ability to respond to a virus that has infected one-in-10 Americans and killed 645,000 of us. Then again, I suspect some of the people putting out the misinformation don’t believe those figures. This whole business just proves people will believe what they want to believe.
Who do you think deserves a peach? How about a pit? Send your ideas, in 40 words or less to the Parker Pioneer at email@example.com. You can also send them by mail to Parker Pioneer, P.O. Box 3365, Parker, Ariz. 85344.
