Peaches to the Parker Broncs football team. Undefeated in the regular season. Their second 2A Agua Fria region title in a row. No matter how the state playoffs turn out, they’ve already had a spectacular season.
Peaches and a chorus of “You Gotta Have Heart” to the Highland Prep Honey Badgers. You got clobbered by the Parker Broncs, but you didn’t give up. You played for pride, and you got through Parker’s tough defense in the fourth quarter. Hold you heads high.
Peaches to the Odyssey Prep Minotaurs volleyball team. In your match last week against Parker, you showed why you are the 3A West region champions. Facing a tough challenger like Parker this late in the season will only make you stronger going into the state playoffs.
Peaches to the Parker Broncs volleyball team. You’ve overcome adversity this season in the form of having your season temporarily suspended due to the pandemic. You hung tough against some very strong opponents. As you head into the post-season, it looks like you are peaking at just the right time.
Pits to whoever vandalized the porta-potties at City Park that were set up because someone vandalized the rest rooms. You can’t get much lower than that.
Pits to the “shortage” of workers. There are a lot of jobs out there that are begging to be filled. C’mon, everyone. The economy won’t work unless we all do our fair share.
Pits to the idea being circulated that, in the next “Batman” movie, the Joker will be played by a woman. There are some things I draw the line at, and that’s one of them.
