Peaches to the month of September! It means we know cooler weather is close by. We know October is next, and that means fall.
Pits to the month of September. It can be the cruelest month. You keep expecting for it to cool down, and it takes seemingly forever to do so.
Pits to the Democratic Party. If you’re trying to hand President Donald Trump a second term, you’re doing a very good job of it.
Peaches to all the Parker High graduates I’ve seen come back to Parker as fine young adults. We must be doing something right here.
Peaches to everyone who’s concerned and trying to do something about bullying in our schools. Being a kid is tough enough. It’s terrible going to school every day knowing you are going to be terrorized.
Peaches to all pets and how much they enrich our lives with their unconditional love. Sometimes, the love of someone who has four feet and a furry face is just what one needs.
Peaches to peaches! And pears, and oranges, bananas and apples!
Pits to websites that have loud, noisy ads that seem to come out of nowhere while you’re trying to read a story or get information from that website. You have to try to find the ad and close it out so you can focus on the story. Sometimes, you find the ad and discover you can’t close it out because there’s no “X.” That’s when you’d like to see how far you can throw a computer.
Peaches to adding long-distance computer throwing as an Olympic sport. There could be different classes and sizes, all the way from tablets to servers. I’ll bet that would be a popular sport.
As a corollary, we could have skeet shooting with cell phones. Either that, or use cell phones for hockey pucks.
We want to know: who do you think deserves a peach? How about a pit? Send your ideas to the Parker Pioneer, P.O. Box 3365, Parker, AZ 85344. You can also send them to firstname.lastname@example.org. We won’t print your name if you ask us not to, but we do need your name on any submissions.
