Peaches & Pits

Peaches once again to the Parker Broncs football team. Sure, they lost to Morenci in the state semi-finals, but they still had an incredible season. It was a great ride while it lasted.

Peaches to the Morenci Wildcats football team. You beat Parker, and you earned your spot in the state 2A championship game. Good luck against Arizona Lutheran!

Peaches to everyone who came out to 18th Street on Saturday, Nov. 20 to cheer for and show their support for the Broncs as they headed for the game with Morenci in Phoenix.

Peaches to Soroptimist International of Parker for deciding there will be no throwing of candy from floats or vehicles in the Parade of Lights. This was a dangerous practice as children often don’t look out for vehicles. It was made even more dangerous given this parade is at night. The Soroptimists have shown once again how much they care about the community.

Peaches to all the staff and volunteers who made the Thanksgiving dinner at the Parker Community/Senior Center such a success.

Peaches to the Parker Regional Chamber of Commerce & Tourism for the Local Bazaar they hosted Nov. 20 at Western Park. I’m glad to see them showing their support for local small businesses.

Peaches to everyone who brought pet supplies for the Animal Relief Fund at the Local Bazaar.

Who do you think deserves a peach? How about a pit? Send your ideas, in 40 words or less to the Parker Pioneer at ppioneer@havasunews.com. You can also send them by mail to Parker Pioneer, P.O. Box 3365, Parker, Ariz. 85344.
