Peaches & Pits

From You:

Pits to the people who so rudely leave their vehicle unattended at a gas pump while they go inside to order food or use the restrooms before pumping gas. Park your car in the spaces provided, do your business, then bring your vehicle back to the pump for gas. How rude and inconsiderate to those of us who wait in line behind you for 20 minutes to get to the pump, when all we want is to gas and go.

Pits to the A & C Railroad for its gross negligence in not maintaining the railroad crossing in Bouse at Main Street (Plomosa Road) and Hwy. 72. We know that Parker is treated as the “elite” of the county, therefore the crossings in Parker and well-maintained and smooth to cross in a vehicle. I guess Bouse residents are second-class citizens, as that’s how we’ve been made to feel. Perhaps the A & C feels that we aren’t worth providing a smooth and safe railroad crossing for our vehicles to drive over. But, that’s okay. Maybe they’ll reconsider that way of thinking when they are presented with a class action suit for the cost of repairs such as shocks and tires to many resident vehicles.

From Us:

Pits to the Arizona Republican Party for censuring Cindy McCain, Jeff Flake and Gov. Doug Ducey. This was because they didn’t jump when Donald Trump snapped his fingers. Since when did being a Republican mean absolute and total obedience to one man, even if it means possibly breaking the law? I’m glad Barry Goldwater isn’t around to see this.

Peaches to all letter carriers and delivery people who work in all kinds of weather. It’s when you have to make your rounds in bad weather that you find out what you’re really made of.

Peaches to Barry Sanders and his mittens. Thanks for giving us something to laugh about that’s funnier than your economic ideas.

Peaches to the Kansas City Chiefs, who are making their second appearance in the Super Bowl in two years. It’s hard to believe they went 50 years (1970-2020) without one appearance in the big game.

Who or what do you think deserves a peach? How about a pit? Send your ideas to the Parker Pioneer at ppioneer@havasunews.com. Try to keep it brief, preferably 40 words or less. You can also mail them to Parker Pioneer, P.O. Box 3365, Parker, Ariz. 85344.
