Eugene “Geno” Griffith

July 9, 1924 to July 27, 2019

Geno passed away July 27 at his home in Parker, Ariz. He was born in Omaha, Neb. to Wiley and Jenny Griffith.

Geno had an exciting life, which included meeting his wife, Naomi “Biddy” Bennett while in the Navy. Biddy passes in 2016 after 70 years of marriage.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1941 to 1945. He also worked in the movie business. He was a key grip and a camera dolly operator at several different studios.

Geno built custom ski and drag boats, and he built several sand buggies as a couple of his hobbies.

His home was in Parker for more than 50 years. Geno was an avid pilot, zipping from Parker to Baja, Mexico in his favorite Bonanza airplane. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10726 of Parker Dam.

Geno is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Ray Welty of Parker; his son Robert and Mary Griffith; grandchildren Sean, Liam and Caitlyn; and great grandson Conner. They are all from Simi Valley, Calif.

A celebration of Geno’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VFW Post 10726 in Parker Dam. That’s the post upriver from Parker.
