PHOENIX (May 29, 2018) - The Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona (WIFA) announced today that it has closed a $576,776 loan with Q Mountain Vista. Q Mountain Vista serves the residents of Q Mountain Mobile Home Park in Quartzsite, Arizona. The water system is operated by Q Mountain Mobile Home Park, a nonprofit company, and is jointly owned by 245 homeowners.
The Q Mountain Vista water distribution system experiences numerous water line breaks and insufficient pressures, resulting in the system losing a large portion of its pumped water. Needed improvements include a new looped pipeline network to minimize water losses and maintain adequate pressures. The water system improvements will be implemented over two phases. This loan will fund the replacement of the main loop and center distribution system, consisting of approximately 1.5 miles of new 6-inch C900 PVC waterline and 93 service lines.
WIFA, through its Board, approved $288,388 (50% of the loan amount) in forgivable principal to reduce the overall cost to the residents. “This project is critical to the health and well-being of the Q Mountain community and WIFA is proud to provide the needed funding to make it happen,” said Trish Incognito, WIFA Executive Director.
WIFA is a governmental organization dedicated to protecting public health and promoting environmental quality through financial assistance for water and wastewater infrastructure. WIFA offers funding for drinking water, wastewater and stormwater projects designed to ensure safe, reliable drinking water and proper wastewater treatment. Over the last 25 years, WIFA has invested over $2 billion in Arizona’s communities.
