The Parker Town Council made some actions regarding citizen advisory committees at their June 5 meeting. Among other things, they voted to increase the size of the Streets & Traffic Committee from five members to seven.
Public Works Director Steve Ziegler said the committee voted to recommend the council increase their members at their April 21 special meeting. They said broader participation of committee members is necessary for streets and traffic-related projects.
The council also accepted the resignation of Dave Boatwright from the Streets & Traffic Committee, effective June 30. He and his wife are moving out of Arizona.
The council reappointed three members to new terms on the Streets and Traffic Committee: Ron Simms, Ronalee Robinson, and Jim Merritt. Their terms were expiring on June 30, and they had indicated a willingness to stay on the committee.
The council also appointed Tammy Thorn to replace Mimi Hernandez on the Board of Adjustments. Hernandez turned in her resignation for her term that ends June 30, 2019.
Two members of the Board of Adjustments whose terms expire June 30, 2018 were reappointed by the council: Karl Hartmetz and Andy Wheatley. Their new terms expire June 30, 2022.
Mayor Dan Beaver thanked everyone who was willing to serve on the Town’s committees.
