The joys of drive-in movies can be rediscovered Friday, Nov. 13, when the Parker Regional Chamber of Commerce & Tourism presents Carpool Cinema, or “Movie Reels and Wheels,” in the swap meet area at La Paz County Park.
The movie starts at 6:15 p.m. They’ll be showing “Addams Family Values,” a 1993 macabre supernatural comedy featuring the characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams. They were originally featured in a 1960s television comedy series. This film is a sequel to a film from 1991. It starts Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, Christopher Lloyd and Joan Cusack. Film critic Roger Ebert gave it a three-star rating, and thought it was funnier than the original.
The film is rated PG-13. Some content may be inappropriate for younger views.
Admission is $20 per car. This fee includes a bag of popcorn and two sodas, courtesy of the Parker Area Alliance for Community Empowerment. PAACE will receive 20 percent of the proceeds. The event is sponsored by Dirty Deeds Marine.
La Paz County Park is located north of Parker on Riverside Drive. To reach the park, take State Route 95 to Golf Course Drive. Follow Golf Course Drive to Riverside Drive and turn left. La Paz County Park will be on the left side of the road.
