The La Paz County Assessor’s Office will hold an Exemption Expo from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday, Dec. 5 at the Bouse Booster Club, 27747 Frame Avenue, in Bouse.

County property owners are invited to come and learn about the property tax exemptions they may qualify for.

There are tax relief programs for widows and widowers, 100 percent disabled persons, religious organizations, non-profit organizations. There’s also the Senior Property Valuation Protection Option (value freeze) for people 65 and older.

To qualify for these exemptions and tax relief programs, individuals must have been full-time Arizona residents for one year prior to application. The documents that are needed include the following:  an Arizona Driver’s License, Arizona Voter’s Registration, two utility bills with name and location address, and income documents from all household sources of income. These would include SSA-1099, 1099-INT, 1099-R, 1099-DIV, W-2, and other forms.

Widows and Widowers also need to provide a copy of the death certificate.
