Motorists can expect some delays next week on State Route 72 between Bouse and the junction with U.S Route 60 in Hope. The Arizona Department of Transportation has contractors putting in striping between milepost 28 and U.S. Route 60 starting Monday, July 15 and ending Friday, July 19.
ADOT advises drivers to plan ahead for lane restrictions on SR 72. The work is part of a pavement rehabilitation and intersection improvement project on SR 72 to Junction US 60.
The following restrictions are scheduled to be in place beginning Monday, July 15, and ending Friday, July 19.
- SR 72 will be reduced to a single lane between milepost 28 located west of the Joshua Drive intersection and US 60 (milepost 49.91).
- Motorists should anticipate a 5-mile lane restriction while crews progress through the work zone for striping.
- Flaggers and a pilot truck will direct motorists through the work zone.
- A 10-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
Drivers should allow extra travel time and plan for delays while construction is underway. They should obey posted speed limits and traffic controls devices and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.
