Council sworn in

Parker Town Magistrate Dennis Shrewsbury (left) swore in three members of the Parker Town Council Jan. 8. The members (from left) Karen Bonds, Marion Shontz and Frank Savino, were elected at the Town’s primary election in August.

The Parker Town Council held its swearing-in ceremony Jan. 8. Incoming Council Member Karen Bonds and returning Council Members Frank Savino and Marion Shontz were sworn in by Town Magistrate Dennis Shrewsbury.

The Council also re-elected Dan Beaver as Mayor and Jerry Hooper as Vice Mayor. Bonds had nominated Randy Hartless for Mayor.

Bonds, Savino and Shontz were elected at the Town’s primary election in August. Savino and Shontz were incumbents who were elected to new terms. Bonds had previously served on the council from 1997 to 2009. Her service included two stints as Mayor and a time as Vice Mayor.

Regular council meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
