Fireworks

America’s Independence Day, the Fourth of July, is often celebrated with events like parades, carnivals, games and especially fireworks. There are several events and fireworks displays planned for the Parker area on July 4 and into the weekend.

The Colorado River Indian Tribes have a series of events planned from July 2 to July 5, including a fireworks display. It all gets underway when the CRIT Special Diabetes Project and Recreation hosts “Movie Madness” from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Irataba Hall. Young people from the second grade through high school seniors are welcome.

On July 3, there will be a three-on-three co-ed basketball tournament from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at Irataba Hall. This will be followed by a barbecue for all young people.

There is also an adult horseshoe tournament scheduled for that evening at Manataba Park. Registration starts at 6:15 p.m., while the tournament starts at 7 p.m.

The events on July 4, Independence Day, start with a 5K run sponsored by CRIT SDP and Recreation. It will be held at the Mohave Village. Registration starts at 6:30 a.m., with the run itself starting at 7 p.m. There will be on-site blood glucose level and blood pressure readings.

The run will be followed by a co-ed volleyball tournament at 10 a.m. at Irataba Hall. This will be followed by a celebration barbecue at 4 p.m. at Manataba Park with games in the Livestock Area starting at 6 p.m. A fireworks display is scheduled for 9 p.m.

On Friday, July 5, the events continue with an Independence Zumba Party at Irataba Hall sponsored by CRT SDP and Recreation. Registration starts at 6 p.m. and the party gets underway at 7 p.m.

Another fireworks display is scheduled for the evening of July 4 at the Roadrunner Floating Dock Bar and Grill. The display is scheduled for 8 to 10 p.m. Roadrunner is located at 7000 Riverside Drive north of Parker.

The BlueWater Resort & Casino has a fireworks display set for the weekend. It starts at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 6.

Earlier that evening, the BlueWater will present a free concert featuring the Hollywood Stones, a tribute to the Rolling Stones. The doors to the BlueWater Showroom will open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be available from July 1 to July 5. You must be at least 21 years old to attend.
