The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office sponsored the annual Lighted Boat Parade Thanksgiving weekend on the Colorado River. Decorated and lighted boats created a colorful sight the evening of Nov. 30 as they made their way from Cienega Springs to Echo Lodge.

The event was free and organized by community volunteers. Large crowds braved the cold on both sides of the river to watch the procession go by.

The Lighted Boat Parade has become one of the traditional events to start the Christmas holiday season in the Parker area. Other upcoming events include the PTA Winter Carnival and Soroptimists Kids & Christmas Dec. 7 at Blake Primary School and the Soroptimists’ Parade of Lights Dec. 14 in downtown Parker.
