A Parker High graduate and long-time Parker resident will soon be joining the staff of a Blythe, Calif. veterinary clinic.
Dr. Rayeann Solano will join Circle H Veterinary Hospital in July 2018. She graduated from Midwestern University Veterinary School in June, after completing her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at the University of Arizona. She was awarded the Merck Veterinary Innovation Award for her volunteer veterinary work in low-income areas.
The daughter of Raymond and Janelle Solano, she graduated from Parker High School in 2005. Growing up in Parker, she was active in 4-H and FFA programs. She raised and showed swine, sheep and cattle for many years. In high school, she was a livestock broker, providing fellow 4-H and FFA members with livestock from across the nation. After graduation from high school, she was awarded the State Star in Agribusiness and served as the Arizona State FFA president in 2005-2006.
In addition, she was Miss La Paz County in 2008.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she worked for Southwest Veterinary Surgical Services, assisting in major orthopedic and soft tissue cases. Her interests include emergency medicine, large animal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Returning to school to become a veterinarian was a culmination of her dreams. In her words, she is “excited to join Circle H and meet all the amazing clients and their furry family members, large and small!”
According to Dr. Steve Montgomery, “Dr. Solano is a very welcome addition here. She spent time here during two clinical rotations and made such a positive impact that we are all looking forward to her arrival. Her animal knowledge and life experiences will make her an invaluable part of our practice. Dr. Solano’s addition will decrease wait times and allow us to expand our availability.”
Circle H Veterinary Hospital in Blythe serves the Palo Verde Valley and La Paz County, Arizona.
