The BlueWater Resort & Casino was closed the evening of Monday, Feb. 8. Multiple sources told the Pioneer of the closure, and there were posts on social media about it as well. These sources said the facility was evacuated.
A call to the BlueWater Tuesday morning, Feb. 9, found that they were open. A spokesperson for the security department said they had been closed for a time the previous evening, but added he was not at liberty to explain why.
As of noon on Tuesday, there were no official statements on the BlueWater or Manataba Messenger Facebook pages, nor on the BlueWater’s website. The BlueWater’s website stated they were open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
The BlueWater is an enterprise of the Colorado River Indian Tribes.
This is a developing story and the Pioneer will have more information as it becomes available.
