Parker Community Senior Center

Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The recommended donation is $3 for people over 60 years old, and $6.50 for those under 60. The Parker Senior Nutrition Program receives funding from WACOG Area Agency on Aging, the DES Division of Aging and Adult Services, and the Town of Parker.

A representative from the State Health Insurance Program will be at the Parker Community/Senior Center from 9 to 11 a.m. the first and third Wednesday of each month to help with Medicare questions. The next visit will be Dec. 4 and Dec. 18. Please bring any paperwork pertaining to your issue so they can help in obtaining the proper answer. The Center’s annual Holiday Feast will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11. This event will also feature their Christmas Sweater Competition. Come show off your favorite Christmas sweater, t-shirt or hat. There will be gift for first, second and third place.

Project Linus is a non-profit organization with the mission of providing handmade blankets, quilts or afghans to local children in need. They create blankets for children in shelters, foster care, hospitals, police or sheriffs or anywhere a child needs the security of their own little quilt.

The local chapter of Project Linus meets every Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Parker Community/Senior Center. They will not be meeting Dec. 10.  They welcome every level of expertise in knitting, crochet or sewing and also provide the material and yarn.

The Center will be closed Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 and Christmas Day, Dec. 25.
