Arizona Public Service is advising a planned outage will be taking place in Ehrenberg during the late evening and early morning of May 3 and 4. The outage is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 a.m.
Bryant Shontz, Construction and Maintenance Supervisor for APS in Parker, said Southern California Edison is performing work on their transmission lines on the California side of the Colorado River. This requires an outage on their line, and, in turn, the outage will cover all of Ehrenberg.
“We are going to be posting road signs at both ends of town, running a dialer campaign, and sending mail notifications,” Shontz said. “We will be setting up an emergency response station up at the Ehrenberg Fire Station. We will have a generator set up at this site for medically monitored customers who cannot get other arrangements.”
During Southern Cal Edison’s planned outage, Shontz said APS crews and crews from their contractors will be completing some summer readiness work.
They will also take care of any issues that arise during the switching process.
