The Arizona Department of Health Services wants to hear from you. They’re looking for the best ways to spend their funds for maternal and child health care in the years 2020 to 2025. To that end, they are conducting an online survey at azhealth.gov/mchsurvey.
The survey is being promoted locally by the La Paz Public Health Education & Prevention Program. It was part of a presentation they made at the Nov. 12 meeting of the Parker Area Alliance for Community Empowerment.
Mandy Shank of the health education & prevention program said the survey will help ADHS decide where to spend their money in the next five years. She said it’s important for people in La Paz County to take the survey so ADHS will know what the needs are here.
On their website, ADHS said they develop a needs assessment every five years to determine areas of priority for the next five years.
“These priorities help us set our course of action for our state going forward,” they said.
“We need your help in order to select priority areas that can have the most impact in improving the health of families in Arizona,” the statement on the website said. “We want your opinions on which areas require more work and focus over the next five years that will promote and improve the health and well-being of Arizona families.”
The ADHS goes on to say answers are completely anonymous and will not be shared. They also ask that people taking this survey pass it along to others who may be interested in the well-being of women, children and adolescents, including those with special needs.
The survey period ends Dec. 31. ADHS said English and Spanish versions are available. They said the survey should take about 20 minutes to complete.
