The Town of Parker will hold its annual Fall Clean Sweep from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at Western Park. The Town describes this as a free service to help keep the town clean.

Among the items that can be brought to Western Park for disposal are tree trimmings and brush, old furniture, appliances, evaporative coolers, and large bulky household items.

No commercial dumping will be allowed.

Items that will not be accepted include paint, motor oil, tires, refrigerators, and air-conditioning units that have not been previously evacuated. To dispose of these items, contact River Cities Waste at 928-669-2559.

Republic services and the Town of Parker staff will be on hand to assist with disposing your unwanted items. Please bring with you your current Town of Parker Water Utility Statement or your Arizona Public Service statement as proof of town residency.

I strongly support this event. Sadly I missed it last time but hope to help with cleaning next year. As far as I know, cleaning services like this are very popular in London and I wish they would become more popular here, in Parker. Anyway, I'm waiting for another Clean Sweep.
