County receives federal funding for food and shelter program

La Paz County has been chosen to receive $9,598.00 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county. Public or private voluntary agencies interested in applying for Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds must contact Vivian Hartless at
928-669-6163 for an application.
The deadline for applications to be received is 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 11. The local board will hold an open meeting on Feb. 11 at 10 a.m., at the Colorado River Regional Crisis Shelter Administrative Office located at 1301 Joshua Ave. Suite C., Parker, Arizona.
Applications can be turned in at/or before the meeting.
Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must: 1) be private voluntary non-profits or units of governments, 2) have an accounting system in place, 3) practice non-discrimination, 4) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and 5) if they are a private voluntary organizations, they must have a voluntary board.
Qualifying agencies are urged to apply.
